Our Next Show

Coming back this month on a wave of psychedlic approbation are B-Movie formed in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire in 1979, out of the ashes of a local punk band, started by Graham and Paul called The Aborted. Originally a three piece, the band featured Steve Hovington on vocals & bass, Paul Statham on guitars and Graham Boffey on drums. They were spotted by Lincoln independent label Dead Good Records and contributed two songs to its compilation album East. Rick Holliday joined the band on keyboards in October 1979 and in 1980 B-Movie released their debut single, The Take Three EP on Dead Good which broughtthem to the attention of Radio One DJ John Peel. A six track EP followed later that year, featuring early versions of their best known songs Remembrance Day and Nowhere Girl. Now with a brand new studio album Climate of Fear recorded in 2015 for US label Cleopatra, the band have evolved their original hard edged melodic pop into a more eclectic mix drawing from a wider range of influences but still with the unmistakable B- Movie sound with elegant synthesisers, Graham's rock-solid drums, Paul's beautifully harmonic guitar and Steve's wonderfully deep, velvety baritone vocals!

A warm welcome back to Tim Burness and his band. The Burness sound features a wide range of musical styles - from progressive rock to pop-rock to ambient electronica. The lyrics cover a range of interconnected themes - from the personal to the political to the spiritual. The nucleus of the band remains: drummer Fudge Smith (ex-Pendragon and ex-Steve Hackett), bassist Keith Hastings (Bamboleo) and keyboard maestro Monty Oxymoron (still with legendary English punk band The Damned and Sumerian Kyngs). They are presently working on the next album "Interconnected", due out later t

Blues Mammoth is the blues band brainchild of Jack Pout & Andy Twyman. While working the festival circuit as solo acts in 2016, a series of chance encounters led the pair to strike up a friendship. A meeting of minds triggered the formation of Blues Mammoth. Both Jack and Andy have had successful solo music careers. Andy first took to the stage aged 12 performing in pubs and clubs, and at 18 began to develop his one man band act. Since then, he has been described as "The Master of The One Man Band" (Blues in Britain Magazine) and has performed at Glastonbury Festival and on BBC Three and Channel 4. His music has received airplay on BBC Radio Kent and has been the subject of articles in The Sun, The Mirror and The Daily Mail. Jack's personal and nuanced style of folk-blues song writing earned him a nomination for a BBC Folk Award. Performing at festivals across the country, as a front man, compere and instrumentalist, he has toured through France, Spain, The Netherlands and Germany in multiple acts.
